About Clive Prout

I am a product of my upbringing, raised in a muggle family, a firm believer in the non-magical, a world governed solely by well-understood scientific laws. My early years were dedicated to the notion that language was merely a tool for describing and communicating the tangible reality surrounding us.

But life has a way of revealing hidden truths. Twenty-five years ago, I embarked on a journey that would alter my perception of reality itself. In the realms of psychology, philosophy, and coaching, I unearthed the profound influence of language on our perception, our experiences, and the very consensus reality that underpins our world. It was here that I discovered the incredible power of words to shape our existence.

My transformation began with a humble journal, as it does for many, where I chronicled the nuances of my inner world, thoughts, and emotions. At first, I still regarded language as a means of observation and documentation, not as a force to create. Gradually, I overcame my resistance to writing, and the words began to flow onto the pages of my journal.

Then, in early 2021, as the world grappled with the pandemic, I found myself taking an online writing program led by Natalie Goldberg. It was a turning point, a catalyst for me to write more freely, to explore prompts, and to expand my daily writing practice. I started to write with discipline, almost every day, and I began to notice the creative choices I made. Which words would I use? Which thoughts from the jumble in my mind would find their place on paper?

The most profound moment occurred during a meditation retreat later that year. A voice within my head proclaimed, "I am Merlin." Its resonance, its energy, demanded my attention. It felt as if a separate being had taken up residence within me, and it urged me to embrace the mantle of Merlin through writing. In the days that followed, I engaged in a spirited internal debate with this voice. It wanted me to become Merlin, and it insisted that writing was the path. After much consideration, Merlin and I reached an agreement. I committed to honor and incorporate the Magician archetype into my identity, and he, in turn, became my Muse.

This life-altering experience, which unfolded two years ago, led me to where I am today. With the unwavering support and encouragement of Abigail, I began to write about my encounters with Merlin's voice. She saw the importance of honoring that voice and taking it seriously. As I heeded Merlin's guidance, my sense of self and my life underwent a radical transformation. My existence gained a mythic context, and I discovered the support of kindred spirits who embraced the magic within me. A new soul family emerged, a fellowship of like-minded adventurers committed to a shared quest for deeper connection, love, and service. Together, we built a physical temple to house our sacred gatherings. I am now surrounded by people who not only recognize and honor the Magician archetype within me but also see the emerging King.

My life has taken on a mythic quality, a journey that nourishes my soul and fills me with excitement. And all of this, without me having published anything significant. I've shared fragments of my writing. My primary focus has been on honoring the creative and transformative voice within me and committing to take action.

This transformation, crafted by Merlin's hand through my writing, is what I aim to share with you through the program Abigail and I have carefully designed together. It's a journey into the depths of self-discovery and transformation, a path that weaves myth and reality, and I'm eager to have you join us on this extraordinary adventure.
